Frequently Asked Questions
What type of housing does LifeBridge Homes offer?
LifeBridge Homes provides safe, affordable, and supportive shared-living environments. Our properties are in single family housing fit with single individuals. In each home, there is a shared living space with private bedrooms and shared common areas.
Who is eligible to live at LifeBridge Homes?
We welcome individuals transitioning out of homelessness, those on SSI or SSDI. We work closely with case managers to ensure that our residents can live independently and be willing to adhere to our house rules. All applicants and house residents must be at least 18 years of age. Preference is given to those with shared living experience and a commitment to maintaining sobriety if in recovery.
Applicants must be able to participate in household chores, comply with a background check, and provide references from previous landlords or case managers. A commitment to community engagement and maintaining a respectful living environment is essential.
What is the application process like?
The process includes submitting an application, attending an interview, and, if approved, being placed on a waitlist. Once a suitable room is available, a tour of the property is offered, followed by the signing of a license agreement, house rules, and move-in.
How does the license agreement differ from a traditional lease?
Think hotel or AirBnb. A license agreement grants a resident the right to occupy the property for an agreed upon time. At LifeBridge Homes, a room license allows the tenant to occupy a bed in a shared living space on a month-to-month basis. Unlike a traditional lease, a license agreement offers more flexibility and is designed to maintain a safe and harmonious living environment for all residents.
What services are included in the monthly fee?
The monthly fee covers rent, utilities, internet, and access to shared amenities. Our homes also have security measure inplace, such as surveillance cameras to ensure safety and positive living experiences.
While we do not offer direct services like medical care or counseling, we work closely with third party care providers to connect them with necessary community resources.
How does LifeBridge support residents who may need assistance?
While our homes are designed for individuals who can live independently, we work closely with case managers to ensure that residents have access to the resources they need. We also encourage participation in community programs and offer support in managing any challenges that arise.
Are there any move-in fees or deposits required?
A one-time application fee is required. A room monthly fees is due at the beginning of each month. At this time, there are no traditional security deposits, but this is subject to change in the future.,
Can resident choose their roommate?
While we strive to match residents with compatible roommates, the primary focus is on creating a harmonious living environment. Roommate assignments are based on availability and compatibility assessments during the interview process.
Will there be other people living in the home?
Yes, LifeBridge Homes operates on a co-living model, meaning that residents will share the home with others. Most residents will share bedroom with one other person, while common areas such as the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms are shared. This setup fosters a sense of community and support among residents, while also providing the privacy of a personal space. We carefully select residents to ensure a harmonious living environment, and house rules are in place to maintain a respectful and peaceful atmosphere for everyone.
What happens if a resident needs to leave a home?
Since our agreements are month-to-month, residents can give notice to vacate according to the terms outlined in the license agreement.
We work wtih residents and their case managers to ensure a smooth transition if they need to move.
